About the event
Since 1972, the Upstate Films team has been finding and sharing the world’s best movies, along with the occasional live event. We’ve built a program of cinematic delights we’re calling “Miracles on Montgomery” that celebrates our first 50 years and points to the next 50. It includes short films, excerpts and various oddities, and some other surprises. It’s an evening sure to delight movie lovers of all kinds.
The Processional Arts Workshop, known for their annual Sinterklaas’ exploits, will lead a Black & White Masquerade, from Upstate Films to the Starr Library as a prelude to the event. The uproarious, come-one, come-all parade will feature great figures from silent film and post-1972 cinema, from Buster Keaton to Eraserhead. Please gather at the Upstate Parking lot right behind the theater at 5 pm to be part of the fun.
Wolftones will play a set of music between the procession and the film screenings, and close out the night with a debut original score to Buster Keaton's "One Week."
